- What formula does this calculator use?
- It uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation: BMR = 10 * weight(kg) + 6.25 * height(cm) - 5 * age + 5 for males, or -161 for females. The BMR is then multiplied by an activity factor to get your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).
- How accurate are the calorie estimates?
- Estimates are reasonably accurate for most adults (typically within 10%), but individual metabolism varies. Use the result as a starting point and adjust based on real-world weight changes over 2-4 weeks.
