What formula does this calculator use?
It uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation: BMR = 10 * weight(kg) + 6.25 * height(cm) - 5 * age + 5 for males, or -161 for females. The BMR is then multiplied by an activity factor to get your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).
How accurate are the calorie estimates?
Estimates are reasonably accurate for most adults (typically within 10%), but individual metabolism varies. Use the result as a starting point and adjust based on real-world weight changes over 2-4 weeks.
